Ruggero Deodato started out in cinema as an assistant to Roberto Rossellini, and continued with 60 movies for many others, including Joseph Losey and Claude Autant-Lara. He was 2nd unit director for Antonio Margheriti, Sergio Corbucci, Riccardo Fredda, and began directing is own films in 1967, which include The Last Survivor (1977) and Cannibal Holocaust (1980). He has directed more than 1 500 TV spots (Fiat, Kraft) and documentaries, including for Italian ministries.
