Bien plus qu’un remake du film de Joe Dante, dont il ne partage finalement que le titre, ce Piranha 3D est une célébration du cinéma débridé des années 1980. En bon cinéphile, Alexandre Aja y convie des figures incontournables de l’époque, comme Richard Dreyfuss ou Christopher Lloyd.
