Diana, fortement diminuée depuis un accident, est envoyée dans un centre de réhabilitation par son mari Homer. Les traitements expérimentaux devraient l’aider à aller mieux, mais elle commence peu à peu à souffrir de visions et se met à douter des soins qui lui sont prodigués, mais aussi des intentions de son époux.

Dans cette nouvelle œuvre réalisée en duo, les cinéastes canadiens poursuivent leur exploration du cinéma de genre, sans jamais perdre leurs personnages de vue. Ce qui débute comme un thriller efficace en vase clos prend rapidement un virage fantastique et quelque peu grotesque, pour enfin aborder l’histoire, intime, d’un couple surprenant.

Diana, who is seriously injured after an accident, is sent to a rehabilitation centre by her husband Homer. The experimental therapy involved is supposed to help her get better, but she gradually begins to suffer from visions and starts to doubt both the treatment and her husband’s true motives.

In this new, co-directed movie, the Canadians Sims-Fewer and Mancinelli continue their exploration of genre cinema without ever losing sight of their characters. What starts out as a powerful confined-space thriller quickly takes a fantastic and rather grotesque turn, before finally delving into the intimate story of a surprising couple.
