Le terme scientifique « brane » pourrait se définir comme une bulle de savon où tout ce que nous connaissons se tiendrait à sa surface. C’est précisément cette « bulle » qu’un scientifique fait éclater par erreur. Corey, un type ordinaire, va tenter de rétablir l’équilibre cosmique en franchissant une série de portes en apparence banales… mais qui s’ouvrent toutes sur d’autres mondes.

Après En eaux très troubles, Ben Wheatley retrouve l’esprit artisanal de ses débuts : tourné à petit budget, Bulk est un film totalement dingue où courses-poursuites, fusillades, romance et science-fiction s’enchaînent dans une esthétique bricolée, mais foncièrement inventive.
