The annual master class with the Festival’s Guest of Honour promises to be very exciting.
John McTiernan, the director of such iconic films as Predator, Die Hard, The Hunt for Red October and Last Action Hero, will be taking part in a master class, in conversation with Jean-François Rauger, programme director at the Cinémathèque française and film critic for Le Monde.
From his first feature, Nomads, starring Pierce Brosnan, to Basic, his latest film to date, in which he directs John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson, this master class will provide an opportunity to review the career of a director who reshaped the codes of Hollywood action cinema in the 1980s and 1990s and to discuss his influences and directing secrets.
