Twelve-year-old Lewis is a brilliant boy with a few fabulous inventions to his credit, but things which have caused a lot of damage. His latest invention, the Memory Scanner, can bring back distant memories of his mother and Lewis will find his family again. But his fabulous invention has just been stolen by a nasty little man in a bowler hat. Lewis loses hope until the mysterious Wilber Robinson whisks him into his time machine to explore the past.
