The Charlie Lyne documentary is an extensive reflection on fear in the Seventh Art, in a mirror held up by horror cinema that addresses and, somewhere, fuels our deepest fears. The demonstration of fear, narrated by Amy E. Watson, develops around 82 pieces of existing lms. Starting with extracts chosen from The Shining, Nosferatu and Don’t Look Now, this litany-spoken voice-o points to the gap between the very personal character of fear and the collective experience still represented by cinema.
Moving beyond theory, however, Fear Itself provides a compilation of works that will delight all a cionados of fantastic cinema.
