Richard Franklin

A laid-back truck driver travelling through the Australian outback finds himself face to face with a killer at the wheel of a green van. When he saves a hitchhiker from his clutches, she becomes his ally.

Criticised at the time for using an American cast, Franklin’s jubilatory road movie is very much an Australian exploitation cinema. Need proof? Everett De Roche signed the excellent script.
