A chef on the run from financial problems joins an old friend in Latin America. The friend seems to be leading a dream life, but when the fugitive decides to take on his identity, he also has to live with his commitments, horrible as they may be.
Nick Stahl, a figure of independent cinema in the 1990s, takes his disillusioned character on a journey through an anxiety-inducing, tropical neo-noir, where horror vies with absolute cynicism. Like many of its illustrious predecessors, this thriller skilfully explores moral issues, constantly bringing the humanity of its characters face to face with their greed.
