INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS 1978

The theme of the invasion of the body snatchers, or the idea of replacing humans by unidentified beings that look like us but have hollow shells, is timeless. In contrast to Siegel, whose story was set in a typical small town, Kaufman develops the theme in 1970s San Francisco, in an America fallen prey to protest movements. The result is a major horror film with a political dimension.
