Moon

Distribution: Equation

Sam Bell has been sent to a remote lunar mining station to harvest helium-3, a clean energy source that has curbed Earth’s fuel crisis. His wife and child have remained on Earth, and he has been alone on the station for the last three years, where he shares his solitude with Gerty, his robot companion. Just as his stay is about to end, he begins to have hallucinations and becomes schizophre- nic. Or could it be that Lunar Industries does not want him to return to Earth?

A moving tribute to 1960s science fiction, notably Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey, Moon, following in the footsteps of the great science fiction film, explores Man’s place in a world of streamlined Technology, more specifi- cally, the emotions that differentiate us from machines.
