Plucky Charlotte is not afraid of anything. She has no qualms about picking up Max, a hitchhiker, on a deserted road at night. They stop at a roadside café where Max goes to the loo, but never comes out. Curious, Charlotte comes back the next night to investigate and is surprised by the Spack, an eccentric old woman in charge of an even more eccentric pack. Charlotte quickly realises that she is to be on their menu. La Meute, with an inhabitual cast for a genre film, plunges us into realistic horror, set in a poor industrial region, before turning into a rock and roll, free for all homage to the generously gory films of the 1980s.
Frank Richard is from Nancy, located in Lorraine, France. He began his film writing and directing career after a stint in music and as a film technician. The Pack, an official selection at the Cannes International Film Festival in 2010, is his first feature film.
