Inspiré par ce que les Anglo-Saxons ont nommé « New French Extremity » (Martyrs, notamment) et par l’ambiance des classiques seventies comme Massacre à la tronçonneuse, Dolly est un slasher inhabituel, outrancier, grotesque jusqu’à devenir profondément perturbant. Le rôle-titre est interprété par Max the Impaler, superstar du catch également surnommée « The Non-Binary Nightmare ». L’artiste compose un personnage déstabilisant dans cette tentative de faire évoluer le genre en poussant les curseurs de l’horreur.

A young woman is kidnapped by a monstrous creature intent on raising her as his own child. Her husband, who is seriously injured, sets out to find her.

Inspired by what the Anglo-Americans have termed the “New French Extremity” (Martyrs, in particular) and by the atmosphere of such 1970s classics as The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Dolly is a slasher movie that is not only unusual and outrageous but also grotesque to the point of being deeply disturbing. The title role is played by Max the Impaler, a wrestling superstar also known as The Non-Binary Nightmare. The actor creates an unsettling character in this attempt to further develop the genre by pushing the boundaries of horror.
