The student Dai Miyamoto discovers a sudden passion for jazz and his sole ambition is to become the world’s greatest saxophone player. But his determination is sorely tested when he takes his first steps as a musician in Tokyo. Blue Giant is one of those rare transpositions that transcend their original source. This anime, adapted from the (already) excellent manga of the same name by Shinichi Ishizuka, not only recounts the exciting journey of an apprentice musician, but also succeeds in translating into images the emotional impact that music can have. A huge surprise, to be experienced with your eyes closed.
