VERY HAPPY ALEXANDER

Synopsis

Alexander, a gentle, fun-loving and somewhat indolent farmer living in the Beauce region of France, dreams of only one thing, which is to be left in peace, but his overbearing wife draws up a new list of interminable tasks every day. Although her unexpected death releases him from his torment, his new lifestyle is frowned upon by the other village inhabitants, who regard it as abreach of public morals and do their utmost to get him to go back to work. In this veritable ode to indolence, the character of Yves Robert has lost none of its subversive aspects, even 50 years later. Quite the contrary in fact.
