An iconic director of American exploitation cinema, with such cult works as Maniac and the Maniac Cop series, in which he explored the gloomy and insecure streets of pre-Giuliani New York, William Lustig collaborated with such B-movie producers as Larry Cohen or James Glickenhaus. He continued to work in his favourite eld with remakes of nuggets of genre cinema via his company Blue Underground and is currently co-producing with Nicolas Winding Refn a remake of his Maniac Cop. With questions from Jean-François Rauger, Director of Programming at the Cinémathèque française, the public will be able to discover the secrets of a director known for his passionate love of cinema. The master class will be followed by Lustig’s landmark film Maniac.
