Saint Maud

Protagonist Pictures

Feature debut

Maud, a home-care nurse, moves in with Amanda, a famous dancer and choreographer weakened by the disease that keeps her confined to her huge house. At first, Amanda is both intrigued and amused by this strange, very religious young woman. Maud is fascinated by her patient, but appearances are deceptive. She is tormented by a terrible secret and by the messages she believes she is receiving directly from God. She is convinced she must carry out a mission: to save Amanda’s soul.

Elegant and detached, Saint Maud is a psychological horror film and a character study of destructive religious fervour.
