For as long as he can remember, Truman Burbank has, unbeknownst to him, been living a fake life on a set. At any given moment, he is the subject of a TV programme watched all over the world. The Australian filmmaker Peter Weir delivers a heart-rending reflection on the construction of entertainment and shows to the detriment of the individual.
