A journalist who has lost her job decides to reinvent herself by creating a new investigative podcast. She conducts a remote investigation into mysterious black bricks said to have a devastating effect on people’s lives.
Matt Vesely succeeds in pulling off a daring gamble with ultra-minimalist sci-fi. Although the story unfolds exclusively behind closed doors, by means of interviews between the main character and selected witnesses, the film is no less disturbing. The gradual tension, built on the reactions of a single protagonist, makes this debut feature an impressive achievement.
