An old man interrupts a performance about Baron Munchausen. He claims to be the famous adventurer, but only a little girl believes him. They embark on an odyssey that takes them to the Moon, a volcano, the belly of a kraken and a cannonball. Terry Gilliam narrates the exploits of a fantasist in this picaresque tale between dream and reality, with Méliès-style effects. A celebration of the power of the imagination, stronger than death.
