AVA’S POSSESSIONS

World Sales: Enternainment One

Ava was possessed by a demon. But now that possession is a certi ed a iction, she can be treated by government-funded therapy to help reboot her life. At the rather cool Spirits Possession Anonymous, this sometimes resembles adult playground fun, with colouring books, dolls and primal screams. But Ava’s also required to track down victims of her demonic fracases to make amends. And when she sets out to find them, she stumbles into a web of sinister plots.

Galland signs a refreshingly new approach to the exorcism film, confounding expectations in his glossy mix of funk, debunk and deadpan seriousness. He pulls it o convincingly, with the help of the engaging Louisa Krause as Ava.
