Philippe Chevassu became smitten by cinema at a very early age. At the end of the 1990s, he joined the film classics distributor Connaissance du Cinéma. In 2007, he founded Tamasa, a key player in the distribution of unreleased and repertory films. More recently, he set up the production company Les Productions du Désordre together with Marion Inizan.
