A very beautiful and desirable actress suddenly and inexplicably dies. An employee of the morgue about to nish work lets two of his best friends onto the premises. Their initial intention is only to peep under the sheet, but morality is very quickly cast aside, and one of the visitors is tempted to possess this lifeless body.
The Corpse of Anna Fritz is a perfect example of the boldness of Spanish genre cinema on the subject of rule-breaking. The film skilfully and candidly engages with the idea of necrophilia. Always surprising, often puzzling and never lacking inspiration, it confronts its characters with their relationship to image and celebrity with a touch of perversion.
