A bio-engineered spider created by the military escapes and quadruples in size every four hours. Amazingly agile and swift, it hops and leaps its way through Los Angeles, wrecking everything in its path. For extra fun, mega-spider spews horrible flesh-melting venom. The real fun starts when a hilarious team of an insect exterminator and a volunteer illegal immigrant step in and upstage the incompetent military.
Big Ass Spider is old-school monster entertainment that never lapses into silliness. If Jack Arnold had wanted to make a monster comedy, it would not have been very different from this one.
