THE GREASY STRANGLER

Ronnie and son Braydon run a rip-off disco walking tour in LA. Braydon loves Janet, but Ronnie is jealous and afraid his son will lose his virginity and leave him. Meanwhile, a roaming killer called the greasy strangler is on the loose. Ugly nudity, a prosthetic penis and sickening food actually grow on you in this hilarious temple to bad taste. Hosking nods to the original midnight movie culture of the 70s, when bad taste rhymed with subversion of mainstream values. Nothing much here subverts today, but the film is enough of a distant cousin to this age to engage viewers on a refreshing trip into a culture of sleeze that eventually warms the heart.
