RAMMBOCK

When Michael arrives in Berlin to win back his ex-girlfriend Gabi, the city is under siege from a rapidly propagating virus that transforms people into zombies. Michael is worried that Gaby is not to be found, but he does meet up with Harper, a plumber’s apprentice, working in her flat. Together, they erect barricades against zombies trying toforce their way in. Harper and Michael’s join forces to survive, but Michael main concern is finding Gabi.

In this zombie comedy, the zombie threat, though most of the time invisible, is palpable in each scene and in each survival strategy undertaken by the characters. The insertion of Michael’s obsessive search for the woman he loves into this post-Apocalyptic scenario makes Rammbock more than a classic zombie film; it also testifies to the increasingly high quality genre films emerging from Germany, such as Die tür, Transfer, Rampage and others.

Marvin Kren

Marvin Kren was born in 1980 in Vienna and has been working as an assistant director, cinematographer and producer since 2000. After graduating in European economy and business management in Vienna, he pursued studies in directing at the Hamburg Media School until 2008. He has made series, documentaries and numerous short films, among which Love is Hard as Walls. Rammbock is his first feature film.
