The 16th edition of the Festival will take place
from 22 September to 1 October this year

After a smashingly successful 15th anniversary festival last year, the Festival is back ready to roll – 10 days of collective, hallucinatory and fright-tinged experiences, in both cinemas and awe-inspiring heritage sites. Strasbourg audiences will once again discover the best of new international productions, retrospectives and cultural events.

Submissions are open

Short- and feature-film directors can submit their films on the Festhome platform starting today, with a deadline of 15 June 2023.

There are several feature-film competitions and sections. Our annual programme includes international competitions for fantastic, crossovers and animated films.

Short-film competitions include international fantastics, French productions in the Made in France section and animated films.

As a member of the Méliès International Festivals Federation (Miff), the Festival also awards the French Méliès d’argent for the best European feature and short film in the fantastic genre. The Strasbourg winners will then be up for the prestigious Golden Méliès, a competition organised annually by the Miff in Sitges, Spain.
