FASHIONISTA

April is a junkie of the third kind: she derives her force from clothes, sniffing them like a glue freak in the vintage boutique she owns with her husband. She begins to unwind when she discovers he’s cheating on her and events spiral into violence and murder.

As the tension mounts, the film progresses in a highly disordered chronology, leaving us unsure at times of what is real or imagined by an increasingly unstable April. But we are never lost. Rumley achieves a fine balance between the quasi-experimental and the immediacy of his flesh and blood story, a richly sensual psycho-thriller about revenge, paranoia and madness.
