Nosferatu the Vampyre (Nosferatu : Phantom der Nacht)

Werner Herzog, cineaste of extremes, takes a great classic of German cinema and implants it with his own vision and identity. His version of Bram Stoker’s novel is undoubtedly closer to the expressionist work of the 1920s than to the Gothic novel of our collective unconscious. Herzog calls upon his favourite actor, the terrifying Klaus Kinski, to bring his Dracula to life.
