Whether a story of a desire for transformation or a search for a way out, The Transfiguration is a sensitive and daring film. Milo, a young orphan brought up by his idle brother in a New York ghetto, is fascinated by vampires in their most classical and blood-thirsty form. One day, he meets a girl who enters his world and tries to understand him.
Both in the cinema and in literature, the vampire will always be a symbol of a mis t on the margins of society. On a risky subject, Michael O’Shea’s first film surprises and convinces with its horrific and naturalist approach to the vampire myth. A comparison with George Romero’s Martin would be fully justified.
