During a routine round, a female ranger gets lost in remote woods. Left to her own resources pending the arrival of help, she is forced to spend the night alone in what turns out to be a crime scene. For her first feature, Roxanne Benjamin, who is well-known for her anthology films XX and Southbound, explores a minimalist setting in a peaceful wood, but one in which the heroine’s paranoia will be put sorely to the test. A closed-in drama under the open skies that cultivates the art of the mystery and plays with our expectations in order to trap and discourage us from walking alone in the great outdoors at night.
