Maja and Leah fall madly in love. The former is a has-been Danish actress, the latter a young academic from London who grew up in an Orthodox Jewish community. When the pair have to retum to England for health reasons, Leah slowly realises that her girlfriend’s seizures may have a supematural origin. Gabriel Bier Gislason’s debut works admirably on many levels, from its portrayal of a budding romance to the building tension brought on by supernatural events. Attachment focuses on elements of folklore from Jewish culture and reveals a world of paralysing terror.
