A pioneer in the promotion of fantastic cinema in France, he has founded numerous fantastic film magazines, among which L’Écran Fantastique in 1969. In 1972, he created France’s first genre festival, the Paris International Fantastic Film and Science Fiction Festival, enabling the public to discover young directors like Sam Raimi and Peter Jackson, and the landmark films of Dario Argento and Tobe Hooper.
