A machinima is a film created from recordings of audiovisual sequences produced during a video gaming session. These sequences are captured in real time using either external or game-integrated video acquisition software. The sequences thus obtained are put together with the aid of a video-mounting program. The aim of this workshop is to create hybrid video works. Each stage will enable participants to engage with a creative process: scene and dialogue writing, decor installation, character creation, game direction using virtual-world actors, video and audio mounting and uploading of the film produced onto a video platform.
