PIG THAT SURVIVED FOOT-AND-MOUTH DISEASE
(GUJEYEOG-ESEO SAL-A DOL-AON DWAEJI)

To escape mistreatment, a pig tries to become human. At the same time, a disillusioned soldier deserts the army and takes refuge in the forest to re-engage with his animal self. Their destinies cross in their respective quests for a new existence.

Pig That Survived follows in the tradition of Korean animated films for adults, such as Yeon Sang-ho’s The King of Pigs (2011). Nine years after On the White Planet, Hur Bum-wook has directed a second feature that is just as dark and full of desperation but, above all, totally insane. Thanks to the magic of motion capture, the actor Han Woo-jin plays around forty different roles.
