ALT CTRL WORKSHOP

Creation of an alternative controler

Sunday, 17 September

From 10 am to 1 pm

Most video games are confined to control interfaces available on the market between standardised gamepads, mice and touchscreens. But beyond the keyboard and the touchpad there is the world of ALT CTRL. Freeing oneself from the constraints of traditional control interfaces is the credo of the contemporary video-game creation movement. This workshop offers you the opportunity to produce your own arcade sticks and play the classic video games differently. In three hours, we’ll work together to construct unique pads, using the basic materials of an arcade cabinet: buttons, joysticks, cardboard and a tad of electronics. Whether making Pac-Man a cooperative game, playing Pong with the feet or playing Tetris on a giant gamepad, we’ll follow the flow of wherever your imagination takes us.
