A Serbian woman in New York is mysteriously drawn towards the leopard cage at the zoo. She later learns that she belongs to an ancient race of Cat People, which has dire consequences on her destiny. French actress Simone Simon, Tourneur’s soft-spoken, but violent heroine in spite of herself, graces this classic horror film.
