After a run-in with the cops at a punk show, Chelsea and her friends search a place to lay low. They run to Chelsea’s abandoned family cabin in the woods, where she developed a deep respect of nature as a child. But her friends begin to degrade the surroundings as soon as they arrive. An overzealous, unhinged park ranger watches over his trees.
Set to the beat of a killer punk soundtrack – Fang, The Avengers, UK Rotten and others – and filmed in glaring neon colors, Wexler’s debut film is a contemporary take on survivalist horror with equal doses of humor, glitter and gore. Taking a cue from today’s politically aware horror cinema, an ecological warning emerges amidst splatter and screams.
