Jean-Baptiste Thoret teacher and film critic was born in 1969. An authority on the New Hollywood 1970s Italian cinema and genre directors such as John Carpenter, Dario Argento, Tobe Hooper and George A. Romero. Thoret was co-editor for Simulacres between 1999 and 2003 and has been at Panic since 2005. He was involved in the radio shows Mauvais genres and Tout arrive for France Culture and is a regular columnist for France’s weekly satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo.
