Actress Sarah Walker works at a dead-end job under a patronising boss enduring petty friendships with competing actors and casting calls that don’t pan out. After a series of humiliating auditions with a somewhat creepy duo she lands the leading role in their new film. But in spite of the many strange things they ask of her blinded by visions of stardom she will do anything to succeed.
Alexandra Essoe’s subtle performance as a young woman whose deluded quest for fame slowly transforms her mentally and physically into something horrible adds a true horror dimension to a tradition of films such as Sunset Boulevard or Mulholland Drive about Hollywood’s indifference or cruelty to actors.
