In spite of warnings, a scientist, his wife and his baby disturb Irish woodland whose dangers they do not suspect. Very quickly, the creatures living there threaten and attack the small family.
Corin Hardy has directed a monster lm with a facade of classicism, an organic, dark and terrifying work. However, The Hallow, above all, is a celebration of folklore, a work that highlights with passion Irish legends and their dangerous bestiary. Hardy’s love of tradition is also reflected in an artistic approach that largely favours the special effect techniques of the genre’s great masters over that of CGI.
