During election season, two amateur gangsters are hired to kidnap the son of Haiti’s future president for a ransom. Royally botching the job, they accidentally kill him. In an attempt to save their skins before their paymasters discover what happened, they make the worst possible decision: kidnap someone who vaguely resembles the dead victim.
The making of this debut Haitian feature bears an uncanny resemblance to its plot. Not only were some of the crew members kidnapped, actual shoot-outs occurred on the set. The result is an impressive creole cocktail of punk anarchy and black comedy: a giddy mix of Pulp Fiction and City of God.
