In a dystopian future, governments organise a “Big Hunt ” to channel the urges of their citizens. An American woman and an Italian man, both well versed in the exercise, face off in a final test in the heart of the Roman forum. Italian director Elio Petri joins others in adapting works of Robert Sheckley, one of the authors who have most addressed the issue of public death shows. Petri approaches the subject with a pop aesthetic that is not without a certain depth.
