In 1956, northern France, miners are required to accompany a scientist into the depths of the earth so he can take a series of samples. Trapped by a sudden landslide, they come across a crypt from bygone times, with a creature living there.
Mathieu Turi – an up-and-coming talent of French genre cinema – is back with an ambitious, Lovecraft-inspired third feature. The angst-inducing plunge into an underground labyrinth makes an ideal setting for a horror narrative, featuring a strong cast of actors playing against type, including an unrecognisable Jean-Hugues Anglade.
