In such genres as diverse as crime films, horror movies and thrillers, Korean cinema no longer needs to prove its ability to adopt a bold approach. This time, director Cho Sun-ho delves into the realm of science fiction to tell the story of a doctor who is trapped in a time loop and tries to save his daughter from a fatal accident. The drama repeats itself before his eyes and he has to find a way of getting the events to move forward.
The central premise seems classical in nature but moves into the realm of a more singular approach when the main character realises he is not the only one to see the day repeat itself. A Day begins in melodramatic fashion but quickly becomes as much a frantic race against the clock as a breathtaking fantasy puzzle.
