The Tan gang, with a hyper-hot Gigi at the helm, is on the run from the police and takes refuge in an upscale Maori home. But the bumbling criminals are no match for the family inside: Hemi, an ego-driven, whaka hihi academic, his wife Margaret, a celebrity TV chef, and their two children – all embarked on reviving their culinary cultural heritage. Danny Mulheron and Maori screenwriter Briar Grace-Smith have brought us a horror comedy blending guck, lesbian shower scenes and cannibalism – a home-grown product of New Zealand, hilariously spoofing the upwardly mobile New Urban Maori and revitalising the home- invasion subgenre
