Manlio Gomarasca was born in Milan. He is the founder and chief editor of Nocturno Cinema,a historical Italian review dedicated to popular and genre cinema. A permanent collaborator of major European fantastic festivals such as Sitges, Ravenna, Trieste, and Brussels, and a programmer for the Locarno Film Festival, he curated the Spaghetti Western retrospective for the Venice International Film Festival with Quentin Tarantino. His documentary, Fernando diLeo: la morale del genere (Fernando diLeo: the morality of genres) was also presented at theVenice Film Festival in 2004. His documentary Joe D’Amato Totally Uncutwas released in both Europe and the United States. Among his publications we should mention: 99 Donne (99 Women), Dario Argento: l’immagine della paura, (Dario Argento: the image of fear) and the best seller, La piccola cineteca degli orrori (The little film library ofhorrors).
