Axelle Carolyn has been a horror fan for as long as she can remember. Brought up on a steady diet of scary movies and Stephen King novels, she started out as a film journalist for genre outlets such as Fangoria and L’Ecran Fantastique before embarking on a film industry career of her own.
Her acting credits include Neil Marshall’s Centurion, with Michael Fassbender and Olga Kurylenko, and Reg Traviss’s Psychosis. She has also published short stories in several prestigious magazines and anthologies, as well as the award-winning and critically acclaimed non-fiction book It Lives Again! Horror Movies in the New Millennium. This autumn she will direct The Ghost of Slaughterford, a horror feature based on her own screenplay.
