PIERRE BORDAGE

Born in the Vendée in 1955, Pierre Bordage lives today on the banks of the Sèvre Nantaise. After a schooling’s heavily complimented by karate and the banjo, he discovered science-fiction at the University of Nantes in 1975. Upon return from a voyage in Asia, je settled in the Gers in 1985, where he wrote Guerriers du Silence. This multiple prize-winning trigly, which eventually played a major role in the french science fiction revival, went unpublished until 1933 (ed. l’Atlante). During this period, Bordage worked s a sports journalist in Paris, where he wrote the 14-volume series Rohel le Conquérant (ed. Vaugirard). La Citadelle Hyponéros won the Cosmos 2000 Prize in 1996 and in 1997 the Wang series, his second major work, was the first to win the Eiffel Prize. A key figure of 1990’s sci-fi generation, today Pierre Bordage is one of the rare french authors to tackle historical fantasy.
